Yahoo Travel Writeup Sept, 2014 "Restaurants in the Middle of Nowhere — That Are Worth the Trip" Baker, Nev. Why it’s worth the drive: Baker is about as middle-of-nowhere as a town gets. It’s just a speck on Highway 50 (“America’s loneliest highway”), which makes the LectroLux all the more remarkable. Or maybe Baker is the kind of town where such creative endeavors can truly flourish. Whimsical décor comes complete with vacuum cleaners suspended from the ceiling. The food is big-city quality, as is a full bar including single-malt Scotches. You may walk out having befriended your fellow diners, especially if you’re all guests at the adjoining 10-room hotel. It’s that kind of place.
All grounds and rooms are non smoking.

The Motel has been here since 1949 and the LectroLux cafe is housed in a 1905 mining grocery store which sold food, tires, clothing tools - you name it. Some of the glass and most of the lumber is original. When the mine closed in 1913 the building was moved to Baker. Maybe they'll move the Empire State building to Baker...
Our Bar in the dining room.
Our swinging porch crew, the fine wine and brew crowd!
We overlook the expansive Snake Valley one of the most remote & pristine places in the country. Our valley is painted in pastels year round with dramatic color variations by season - starry nights, colorful skies, and clean air days are the rule here. We have seven quiet, comfortable rooms, and other units for larger parties nearby. Our oasis is surrounded by trees and is a wonderful place to relax on the patio sipping coffee or brandy from the Café while planning your days in the Great Basin National Park, the Moriah Wilderness or the surrounding areas.
Also on the property is an Art, Antique & Crafts Galley which includes the owner's photography. See
The LectroLux Cafe has become noted for its eclectic personality and some of the best food in rural anywhere! Our customers say we certainly have the best pizza in rural America.
For Example: "Little did we expect to find the delights of the Silver Jack Inn during our trip to the Great Basin National Park. The food was great. The booze selection was to die for- all my favorites! The room was cozy and quiet. The other guests were friendly. Lots of dogs and cats, too."
