CLOSED FOR THE WINTER; WE REOPEN APRIL 1, 2009
Savings Packages (pdf)
The Silver Jack is located just 5 miles off US Rt. 50 (America’s loneliest road) at the foot of Mt. Wheeler (13,063’) in Baker, NV near Great Basin National Park. We overlook the expansive Snake Valley one of the most remote & pristine places in the country. Our valley is painted in pastels year round with dramatic color variations by season - starry nights, colorful skies, and clean air days are the rule here. We have seven quiet, comfortable rooms, and other units for larger parties nearby. Our oasis is surrounded by trees and lawns and is a wonderful place to relax on the patio sipping coffee or brandy from the Café while planning your days in the Great Basin National Park, the Moriah Wilderness or the surrounding areas. |

The Baker area and the rest of White Pine County offer many outdoor sports activities. Murray summit near Ely, the Moriah Wilderness, and the Great Basin National Park offer hiking, mountain biking, and winter xcountry skiing & snowshoeing, fishing and bird and wildflower viewing. From casual, easy hikes to extreme aerobic summer and winter training, the region accommodates and challenges. Hiking to the Bristlecone pine forest past two lakes in the GB Park is sublime, high mountain terrain - tumbling, mountain streams, alpine lakes, 3-4,000+ year old Bristlecone Pines, a glacier, and limestone caverns are some of the attractions of the Park. One of the best things about Baker is the low number of visitors - a place to get away from it all – relax and chill.
Lehman Caves is a magical limestone cavern at the Visitor center with hourly tours daily. From there, a paved scenic drive allows access to the 10,000-ft. level on 13,063 ft. Mt. Wheeler. Trailheads to the Bristle cones, the glacier, lakes and summit begin here.
